East Coast Surf Club

Hey folks,

we’ll be having our annual general meeting on 26/1 upstairs here http://www.4damelane.ie/contact.html starting at 7pm.

The AGM is when we elect our committee, a group of volunteers, helping in different roles to make sure that the club runs smoothly.

We may also create new roles depending on suggestions and requests from members. Anyone interested in getting more involved with the club is more than welcome to. We always need help organising different aspects of the club, from IT support, to booking accomadation, to throwing parties, to designing literature for new members.

We’ll try get all the talk stuff finished by 9:30/10 and may have some live music lined up, yet to be confirmed.

Hope to see y’all there and hear your suggestions on how we might improve the club and make it even more welcoming for new surfers.

Everyone is welcome, regulars, old members, new members or people that just want to check out the crowd before deciding if they want to join. Hardcore heads usually end up in any number of late bars, dancing until the wee hours and deny everything the following day.

Everyone is welcome, regulars, old members, new members or people that just want to check out the crowd before deciding if they want to join. Hardcore heads usually end up in any number of late bars, dancing until the wee hours and deny everything the following day.

There’ll be chat of this weekends craic at the Intercounties in Rossnowlagh and upcoming Hallowe’en weekend trip to Lahinch. Of course there’s smaller trips being organised every weekend worth surfing. These are usually called on Wednesdays and Thursdays before the weekend, when the weather forecast is more reliable. The members forum is where all this chat goes on.

Please bring along any borrowed items from the club library to the social.

Well believe it or not Summer is drawing to an end but on the upside that means the Autumn swells are on their way .  It also means its time, once more, for the WCSC Longboard competition!! This is always a great weekend, Lahinch is buzzing, surf is pumping (hopefully) & there is lots of opportunities to pick up some tips as you check out the competition between your surfs…..and who knows, we may even manage to presuade one of our own to enter this year????  If anybody is interested check out the link below;

Normally we’d have it on the 3rd Thursday however quite a few of us are going to be in Tramore Thursday 21st for the Surf2Heal which invloves teaching kids with autism how to surf. More details at http://www.surf2heal.org/

If you’d like to support the us or just watch us fundraising for this event, we’re having a sponsored paddle tonight, Thurs 14/7, from Killiney DART station to Whiterock. Calling all surfers!

As the traditional first trip of the year, over Easter bank holiday, is going to be quite late this year, we’re arranging a trip for the weekend of March 12th. Its the perfect opportunity for those of you who’ve been in hibernation all winter to test the waters and a great chance for any new members to come along, get involved & hopefully catch some waves

We’ll be organising accommodation & lessons for those who are interested. Everybody is welcome! Members can check out the forum for more details or else just look us up on facebook & drop us a line with any questions.
