Save the date... big wave surfer Pete Conroy, will be giving a first aid talk to members of the club who are interested in attending on Thursday 19th September in the Central Hotel (McClelland Room) on Exchequer Street. The talk will start at 7pm sharp and the social will take place afterwards from 9pm. The cost for attending the talk will be €10 (money will be collected on the door on the night).
Social afterwards is FREE! :)
The feedback from members who have attended this talk in previous years has been excellent. As well as being a big wave surfer, Pete is a beach lifeguard instructor and a paramedic with the Dublin fire brigade (both for 15 years) and has many other qualifications - too numerous to mention!
On the night, Pete will give a head to toe run-through of life threatening injuries, how to identify and deal with them.
Instead of having a social on the second Thursday of the month, we have moved the usual social date for this special occasion, so as a one-off it will take place next month after Pete's talk at 9pm (there will be no social on 12th September).
We look forward to seeing many of you there.
PS: The First Aid talk and the social are open to members and non-members alike, so feel free to spread the word!
